Punarmilan
As we are aware that the Bangladesh Liberation War was an armed conflict which resulted in secession of East Pakistan,, which became the independent nation of Bangladesh. The Novel "Punarmilan" presents the details of cause & effect on social order in East Pakistan consequent to violence unleashed by the Pakistani forces led by General Tikka Khan. Immediately after taking over as Governor of Pakistan, General Tikka Khan ordered shooting of five hundred bangla activists. Consequent to this cold blooded massacre, Pakistan military carried out systematic genocide of bengalis. It is understood that close to ten lakh bengalis were murdered by pakistan military.. The violence unleashed by the Pakistani forces on 25 March 1971 provoked the people of bangladesh and their leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh as a sovereign and independent country. The violence unleashed by Pakistan military on innocent people, led to influx of refugees in India. The civil war led to a sea of refugees flooding into the eastern proivince of India. Facing a mounting humanitarian and economic crisis, India started actively aiding and organizing the Bangladeshi resistance army known as Mukti Bahini. These events compelled India led by Indra Gandhi to take military action against the Pakistan Army and help Bangladesh to gain freedom. During the war there were widespread killings and other atrocities – including the displacement of civilians in Bangladesh and widespread violations of human rights, carried out by the Pakistan Army.
The Novel 'Punarmilan" is an imaginary presentation of the plight of people of Bangladesh during the freedom struggle & the auspicious & emotion reunion of of some married couples.

The North West India
"The North West India" provides detailed analysis of the Second Century BC Period. when the Great Mauryan empire crumbled and fell. The North Western India suffered from a series of invasions, which had far reaching effect on the entire sub continent of South Asia. The Bactrian Greeks, who occupied first the kabul valley and then the Panjab were undoubtedly a thorn on the side of India. The Greek occupation of India introduced new culture new ideas during second century BC. The Greeks themselves very quickly began to come to the terms of Indian culture. This book is an honest contribution to fill many gaps for reconstruction of ancient history covering Second Century BC .
salient features of this book are: -
1. This is a successful attempt illuminating the dark little known Greco Sunga period of Indian History. It also brings to light considerable new information on the republican tribes and the later mauryas.
2. Chapter One surveys the contemporary geography of the region
3. Five accurate maps highlight the contemporary historical & geographical details
4. A detailed biography and a descriptive index is appended
5. Copies of Plates of several coins & monograms are attached at the end

History may be defined as collection of evidences, research based on facts & figures and presentation of authentic information about past events. History is a strong medium to get connected with ancient roots. Scholars who write about history are called Historians. As we all are aware that India witnessed several invasions. Adequate justice could not be done to honor our heros due to lack of interest by the invaders. Small contributions in the field of History of Ancient India by historians during Colonial rule could not do justice to earlier Proud rulers of South North & West India & their successors. Ancient Indian History, therefore became victim of history of religions by historians of colonial era. “ Truth of those dark times was not Truth, it was just someone’s version to please their religious & political bosses.
Research work to examine and analyse the sequence of events, and all attempts to investigate objectively the patterns of cause and effect by the Truthful Historians of pre partition era was discouraged by Rulers. Indian History suffered from obscurities, uncertainties, and ambiguities during colonial era. Post partition period saw emergence of a dedicated class of Ancient India Historians, who brought out facts & the revolutionary vision of our historians and highlighted the truth of glorious past of India.
“We must be aware that truth marches along long fields of winding shadows out of an abyss the cursed black hole. Truth is a shower of raining stars hailing down from the heavens. It covers the earth & makes it gold.”
Truth is therefore more desirable then many white diamonds. It is the thing, we must, search for, A thing, we must prize for, A thing we must hold. And here is the Truth of Ancient India.
The recorded History of India begins from Indus Valley civilization for which adequate evidences were discovered from sites like Harappa, and Lothal etc. The two phases of Indian history may be described as pre-Vedic and Vedic periods. Expectation
The english translated version of the famous novel ‘EXPECTATON’ (’PRATEEKSHA’) written by Smt. Rajkumari Sharma is
worth to be included in the list of the best novels ever written on the INDO-PAK
partition.
The author in her autobiographical novel has beautifully depicted the customs,
traditions, festivals, the life- style and the changing scenario in the work culture
of the then Punjab. Since the author herself being a victim of the INDO-PAK
partition; has undergone the horror, hence she has succeeded in depicting the
heart-breaking experience of the bloody-partition. The heroine of the novel Sita
never surrenders to the adversities, never compromises to wrong ethical values
but, takes them up as the challenge; faces them boldly and becomes victorious.
As a social-novel, it ‘s story is very inspiring, interesting and indulging. I am
confident that this novel written in simple language would be a guide & enrich
the knowledge of the readers.

1) The Sakas in India and their impact on Indian Life & Culture
The Sakas or the Scythians originally lived a nomadic life in central Asia. In the records of the early Achaemenian emperors of Persia, there are references of Saka people living in three settlements. The Sakas were the alien tribes who entered India and by defeating the native kings, established a strong foundation of the Saka kingdom in India. However there are different theories approached by scholars after a keen controversy regarding the routes through which the Sakas entered India. The most researched and widely accepted theory is that, the main body of the Sakas moved westward from Bactria to Heart, Eastern Iran and Seistan. From there they tried to force their way into the Parthian Empire but was opposed by the emperor Mithradates II. After suffering a crushing defeat in the hands of Emperor Mithradates, the Sakas moved towards the region of Eastern Iran. From East Iran, they found their way to the Indian subcontinent through the Bolan Pass.

Expectation
The english translated version of the famous novel ‘EXPECTATON’ (’PRATEEKSHA’) written by Smt. Rajkumari Sharma is worth to be included in the list of the best novels ever written on the INDO-PAK partition. The author in her autobiographical novel has beautifully depicted the customs, traditions, festivals, the life- style and the changing scenario in the work culture of the then Punjab. Since the author herself being a victim of the INDO-PAK partition; has undergone the horror, hence she has succeeded in depicting the heart-breaking experience of the bloody-partition. The heroine of the novel Sita never surrenders to the adversities, never compromises to wrong ethical values but, takes them up as the challenge; faces them boldly and becomes victorious. As a social-novel, it ‘s story is very inspiring, interesting and indulging. I am confident that this novel written in simple language would be a guide & enrich the knowledge of the readers. -Dr. Tilak Raj Goswami
