ऋषि शाकटायन
शाकटायन वैदिक काल के ८वीं ईसापूर्व के , संस्कृत व्याकरण के रचयिता थे।
यह ऋषि काण्व वंशीय थे। यह व्याकरण आचार्य पाणिनी और यास्क से पूर्व हुए हैं। गार्ग्य के अतिरिक्त सभी नैरूक्त आचार्य शाकटायन को अपना आदि आचार्य मानते हैं। इनका “उणादि सूत्र” पाठ प्रसिद्ध ग्रन्थ है। यास्क, पाणिनि एवं अन्य संस्कृत वैयाकरणों ने उनके विचारों का सन्दर्भ दिया है। इनके अनुसार संस्कृत भाषा में पाए जाने वाले सभी शब्द धातुओं से उत्पन्न हैं। शाकटायन, संस्कृत व्याकरण के रचयिता हैं। शाकटायन आचार्य की पुस्तकें प्रार्थना से शुरू होती है। प्राचीन जैन व्याकरण पाणिनी की अष्टाध्यायी से पहले अस्तित्व में है। इस पुस्तक में पाणिनि ने कई प्रसिद्ध व्याकरणों का उल्लेख किया है। जो अतीत में अस्तित्व में था। ऋषि शाकटायन एक जैन विचारधारा के लेखक थे।

Rishi Shaktayana
Shaktayana was the author of Sanskrit grammar, of the Vedic period. (8th BC)
This sage was of the Kanva dynasty. The grammar predates Acharya Panini and Yaska. All the Nairukta Acharyas except Gargya regard Shaktayana as their original Acharya. His text “Unadi Sutra” is a famous text. Yaska, Panini and other Sanskrit grammarians have referred to his ideas. According to him, all words found in Sanskrit language are derived from metals. Shaktayana, was the author of Sanskrit grammar also. All books of Shaktayana, begins with prayers. Ancient Jain Grammar exists before Panini’s Ashtadhyayana. In this book Panini mentions many famous grammars. which had existed in the past. Rishi Shaktayana was the author of similar Jain school of thought.
