My favourite poem

Some words coming out directly from my heart

My favourite poem
By
Alok Mohan

I was wrong, I loved you,
Thought our hearts beat as one,
In the light of the moon,
We’d dance till the night was done.
I was wrong, I believed you,
Held your words like they were true,
Didn’t know you’d forget me,
Didn’t know you’d betray me too.
Promises whispered in the dark,
Echoes now that tear apart,
In your eyes, I saw the spark,
Now just shadows in my heart.
I was wrong, I believed you,
Held your words like they were true,
Didn’t know you’d forget me,
Didn’t know you’d betray me too.
Memories fade, but pain remains,
Lessons learned from love’s cruel games,
I’ll rise again from these chains,
Stronger now, though it feels strange.
I was wrong, I believed you,
Held your words like they were true,
Didn’t know you’d forget me,
Didn’t know you’d betray me too.
