Guhasena was a notable ruler of the Maitraka dynasty, which governed parts of western India from the 5th to the 8th century CE. His reign is of historical significance for several key reasons. Guhasena ascended to the throne during the 6th century CE, a period when the Maitrakas were a prominent ruling dynasty in the region, especially in Gujarat. Guhasena, like many of his Maitraka predecessors, was a patron of art, culture, and literature. His support for poets, scholars, and artists contributed to the flourishing of cultural and intellectual endeavours in his kingdom.
